How can niche B2B audiences be reached worldwide efficiently, at scale, and across channels?
The project goal was to establish a digital paid media strategy capable of addressing highly specialized decision-makers and combining various objectives, ranging from awareness and lead generation to employer branding.
The ambition: a globally applicable setup that scales over time, continuously learns in a structured way, and combines operational excellence with strategic governance.
from pilot project to global paid media setup
Since 2021, netzeffekt has been supporting Munich Re as a strategic paid media partner. LinkedIn was identified early on as a key channel due to its strong relevance for international decision makers and its advanced targeting capabilities. In addition, Google & Bing Ads, YouTube, and Instagram play an important role for selected topics and audiences.
Together, a structured test-and-learn framework was developed: hypotheses are defined, tested, evaluated, and – if successful – translated into standards. The focus lies on targeting strategies, platform comparisons, and cross-channel testing. This approach generates robust learnings that are systematically integrated into campaign planning and optimization.
LINKEDIN AS THE STARTING POINT AND CORE CHANNEL
- Cross-platform paid media setup with LinkedIn as pilot and benchmark channel
- Always-on LinkedIn strategy for awareness, lead generation, and employer branding – complemented by tactical flights and dedicated campaigns
- Audience building using custom audiences and first-party data, specifically for niche segments and global decision-makers
- Development and maintenance of core and non-core business audiences, including clearly defined clusters that can be reactivated and adjusted as needed
- Regular strategic reviews on a monthly and quarterly basis
- Early integration and evaluation of new ad formats and LinkedIn functionalities, such as LinkedIn Accelerate – continuously testing how new features can be leveraged effectively, even within regulated environments
Building on LinkedIn, a scalable paid media setup was established and further developed along clearly defined strategic objectives.
